Red-dot zombie: my Holosun died at the range and it made me rethink my carry setup

My carry dot went dark mid-string last week — turned out to be a dead battery despite the shake-awake. It worked out because I default to my irons, but it was a wake-up call. If you carry a red dot pistol, please train to transition to backup sights and actually change your battery on a calendar schedule, not when it dies. The dot is a fantastic tool but it's still electronics.
