Cleaning ritual or chore? I actually find it relaxing and I know I'm weird

Confession: cleaning my guns might be my favorite part of the hobby. There's something meditative about breaking it down, the smell of the solvent, getting everything spotless while a podcast plays. I know plenty of you treat it as a necessary evil and run your guns dirty on purpose. I'm not arguing it's mechanically necessary every time, I just genuinely enjoy it. Anyone else in the cleaning-is-therapy camp or is it just me?

Not just you. Sunday night, good light, a podcast, and a dirty bolt carrier. It's my version of meditation.
Just make sure 'relaxing' doesn't turn into over-cleaning and wearing down finishes or losing detents. Ask me how I lost a tiny spring into the carpet void forever.
I'm the opposite, I'd rather be shooting than scrubbing, but I respect the ritual people. To each their own.
Therapy is more expensive and less satisfying. Carry on.
The smell of Hoppe's is pure nostalgia for me, takes me right back to my grandfather's bench. I clean partly just for that.
