My first AR-15 build is done — parts list and what I'd change

Finally finished my first 16" carbine build after collecting parts for six months. Went with a mid-length gas system, BCM upper, a basic but solid BCG, and a budget LPK. It ran 200 rounds without a hiccup at the range yesterday and I couldn't stop grinning. If I did it again I'd have just bought a quality complete upper and only built the lower — would've saved time and probably money.

The 'build the lower, buy the upper' advice is so real for a first timer. Headspacing and gas tube alignment are where people get bit.
Congrats on a clean first build. Stake that gas key and castle nut if you haven't already — cheap insurance.
Mid-length on a 16" is the sweet spot, good call. Softer shooting and more reliable dwell than carbine length.
200 rounds clean is a good start but don't trust it until you're past 500+ with your chosen ammo. Keep a log.
Nice. What handguard and optic did you end up running? Always curious what people pair with a BCM upper.
