AR upgrades that actually mattered vs money I wasted

After a few years and too many parts orders, here's my honest list. The upgrades that changed how I shoot: a quality trigger, a good red dot or LPVO, a white light, and a comfortable sling. The stuff I wasted money on: a fourth rail accessory, a 'lightweight' BCG I didn't need, and three different grips chasing a feel. Spend on the things that touch your shooting and your ability to use the rifle, not the gucci bolt-ons.

The lightweight BCG rabbit hole is real. A standard quality BCG just works.
100% on trigger, optic, light, sling. Those four are the whole game for a fighting rifle.
Guilty on the grip carousel. Bought four, went back to the second one.
Disagree slightly — a quality LPVO is amazing but it's a lot of money for someone whose fundamentals aren't there yet. Dot first.
I'd add good magazines to the 'actually matters' list. People cheap out and then blame the gun.
