Is it worth paying for a real handgun class or can I self-teach?

I've been shooting for about a year on my own and I'm decent at putting holes in paper, but I have no idea if my fundamentals are actually sound or if I've just gotten good at my own bad habits. A two-day class near me is $400 plus ammo. For those who've taken formal training, was it worth the money or could I get the same from YouTube and practice?

I self-taught for years and was stubborn about it. Took one class and realized how much I didn't know. Just go.
$400 for two days is pretty standard and honestly reasonable. Budget for the ammo though, a serious 2-day pistol class can run 800-1000 rounds.
Best money I've ever spent on this hobby. A good instructor caught a grip issue in 5 minutes that I'd been fighting for two years. YouTube can't watch you shoot.
You can get fundamentals from good free content, but you cannot get real-time feedback. That's the whole value. Go for it.
Depends heavily on the instructor. Vet them. Ask what their curriculum is and look for reviews. A bad class is worse than no class because they'll teach you junk with confidence.
