Flat face helped my trigger control more than the weight reduction did. The leverage feels more uniform finger-to-finger.
Careful with going too light on a gun you might use defensively. Competition trigger jobs and carry guns are different conversations.
It's both, honestly. The geometry of a flat face changes where your finger sits, which can genuinely help consistency. But a lot of the 'snappier reset' feeling is real improvement plus a little confidence boost.
The biggest gains for most people are still dry fire reps, not parts. A better trigger amplifies good fundamentals, it doesn't replace them.
I timed mine before and after on a stock vs aftermarket trigger. My average splits dropped maybe 0.02-0.03s, small but consistent across strings. Not placebo, but not magic either.
