Welcome to the dark side. Pistols expose every tiny flinch and grip error that a rifle's weight and stock soak up. Dry fire is your friend here more than with long guns.
Trigger control and sight alignment carry over conceptually, but the short sight radius and one-handed-ish grip make the pistol way less forgiving of small errors. You're not starting over, but respect that it's a different skill.
15 yards is actually pretty far for a new pistol shooter. Back up to 7, get tight there, then extend distance as you clean up. Don't fight the hard problem first.
Honestly the discipline of a hunter who's used to making one shot count is an advantage. You're not a spray-and-pray guy, you just need reps with the new platform.
Your breath and trigger discipline from hunting will help a ton. The grip is the big new thing. Get a solid two-handed grip dialed and a lot of that 15-yard spray tightens up.
