When you do move them, transport unloaded and locked, ammo separate, and keep a copy of the will or estate paperwork with you. FOPA helps but documentation is king.
First check both states' laws, especially yours, since some require registration or have restrictions on certain models. The bolt-action and revolvers are probably fine but verify.
Condolences. I went through this last year. An FFL who handles estate transfers made the whole thing painless, worth the small fee for peace of mind.
Sorry for your loss. Inheritance through a will is treated differently than a sale, but bringing them across state lines to yourself still has rules. An FFL transfer is the cleanest path.
Talk to the executor of the estate. The transfer should ideally go through the estate properly so everything is documented.
