Red flag law in my state has me genuinely worried about a false report

I live alone and keep to myself, but I have a neighbor I've had disputes with and my state has an ERPO/red-flag law. I'm a totally law-abiding owner with zero issues, but the idea that someone with a grudge could trigger a process that takes my firearms keeps nagging at me. Has anyone here actually dealt with this, and is there anything responsible owners do to protect themselves?

Keep your record spotless and avoid escalating with the neighbor. Easier said than done, but giving them nothing to point to is your best defense.
If you can afford it, have a relationship with a firearms attorney before you ever need one. Having someone to call immediately matters a lot in these.
This is exactly why I keep a safe storage setup and a clean digital trail. Calm, boring, documented. Sorry you're dealing with a bad neighbor.
It's a real concern and you're smart to think ahead rather than panic. Document any disputes with that neighbor in writing so there's a paper trail showing the history.
In most states there are penalties for filing a knowingly false petition, and you'd have a hearing where you can present your side. Know the exact process in your state cold.
