First time gun owner - need advice on home defense setup

Hey everyone, just bought my first firearm (Glock 19) for home defense. I live in a suburban area and want to make sure I have everything set up correctly. What should I consider for home defense? Thinking about getting a weapon light and maybe a small safe. Any recommendations? Also curious about ammo selection for HD - hollow points vs FMJ?

As someone who's been shooting for 20+ years, here's my honest advice: don't rush into buying a bunch of stuff. Get one good gun, learn it inside and out, and shoot it a lot before adding to your collection. Too many new shooters buy 5 guns in the first year and can't shoot any of them well.
